FAQ
Questions people actually ask.
On what this site is, how the research is done, and what it will never do.
Are you SEBI registered?
No. I am not registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India as an Investment Adviser or a Research Analyst. Nothing here is investment advice or a recommendation. It is research and education, published in public.
Where I state what I am doing with an issue myself, that is a disclosure of my own position, not a suggestion about yours.
Can you tell me whether to buy a stock?
No, and I won’t. No target prices, no entry or exit levels, no portfolio reviews. For advice specific to your money and your situation, speak to a SEBI-registered adviser.
What this site does instead is show you the numbers and where they came from, so you can reach your own view.
Why don’t you use grey market premium?
GMP is an unregulated, unverifiable price quoted in an informal market with no published order book and no oversight. It can be moved cheaply by people with an interest in moving it.
It gets recorded here as a fact about sentiment when it is worth noting, but it is never a reason for a conclusion. If a call would change because the GMP changed, it was never a real call.
What is the Verification Ledger?
A labelling rule. Where a claim carries weight — a headline figure, a disputed number, or a number the company never published — it is labelled as one of three:
- Verified — traced to a primary filing, and the filing is named and dated.
- Contested — sources disagree or the company disputes it, and both sides are shown.
- Not published — the company has not disclosed it, and the absence is stated rather than filled with a guess.
The third label is the one that matters most. A missing number is information too.
Where do the numbers come from?
Red Herring Prospectuses and offer documents filed with the Registrar of Companies; company filings to BSE and NSE, including anchor allocation disclosures; SEBI orders and adjudication records; audited and restated financial statements; and records from agencies such as the ED, SFIO and MCA where relevant.
Ratios and growth rates are calculated from those figures and labelled as my calculations, not as disclosures.
Do you get paid by the companies you write about?
No. No sponsored analysis, no paid coverage, no arrangement with any issuer, brokerage or intermediary, at any price. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed at the top of the article before you read a word of it.
Do you hold positions in what you cover?
Where I have applied to an issue or hold a position relevant to a piece, it is stated in that piece. You should assume a disclosed position is a real one and read the analysis with that in mind.
What happens when a call goes wrong?
It gets published. Every call made here gets a scorecard afterwards, on a stated date, whether it worked or not. Analysis that only records its wins is marketing.
I found a factual error. What now?
Send it to hello@investingwithjainsahab.com with the article, the specific claim, and the filing or page that contradicts it.
Corrections are made in the body of the article, marked as corrections, with an explanation of what changed. Nothing is quietly deleted. Corrections get handled before anything else in the inbox.
How often do you publish?
When there is something worth publishing. This is not a daily feed, and there is no schedule to fill. A thin post published on time is worth less than a thorough one published late.
Can I republish or quote this?
Quote a few lines with a link back and that is fine. Please don’t republish whole articles. If you want to use a chart or table, ask first.
What data do you collect about me?
Practically none. No account, no login, no newsletter, no advertising, no analytics. The full position, and your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, are set out on the privacy page.
